Principle of operation and application settings

In its work the application uses two types of keys: public and private. The public key is used to encrypt messages and can be easily transferred by any available way. The private key is used to decrypt the message, its confidentiality is most critical for the safety exchange of information.

To create a key go to Key Manager, tap Create New Key, if you are the recipient of an encrypted message, or tap Import, if you are the sender.

Creation of key

To generate a new private encryption key fill in the form and tap Create:

  • Key Name. Enter the name of the key. It will be used for mapping in the Key Manager.
  • E-mail.
  • Password. Enter the password for the key.
  • Length of the encryption key. Select one of the available values (1024,2048,4096). The length of the encryption key increases its safety, but at the same time the length of the message will be increased too, that may be essential for the wireless transferring of messages.
  • Remember Password. Set this flag if you do not want to enter the password each time you use the key. Note! Setting this flag will reduce the safe handling of the application.

After creating the key recipient must send public key to the sender for the encryption. Decryption is performed with help of private key.

Import of the key

For decryption of messages you must import the key into the system. Fill in the form Import and tap the button:

  • Key Name. Enter the name of key. It will be used for mapping in the Key Manager.
  • Key. Enter the received text of the key for further usage. Depending of the contains it will be private or public key.
